Remembering Lucy

Journalling reads:
Your Great Aunt Lucy with Grandad Cleaver, Nanna Cleaver and her little baby sister, Aunt Ethel.
Nanna tells the story that sadly, Lucy succumbed to diptheria and passed away while her father was
away at war. He didn't find out until he came home from war, walking though the door and calling out, "Where are my 2 girls?"
She was never forgotten.

This photo and the story that it reminds me of, always makes me feel sad, and in some small way I wanted her to be remembered,....even if it is only on a scrapbook page.

This will be my next class at the Sheoak Cottage...Monday 20th September.

wow Sandra. That a bit of a heart pulling moment.

This is the reason why we scrap!!!!!!! So the history and the stories of our families live on, long after the people in those stories arent around anymore.

lots of texture. I love it. love it lots.

What a sad story. It is great though that we can help keep these people's memories alive with our scrapbook pages. It is a stunning page Sandra!

this page is lovely, but so much more than that, as it really does tell a story, and such a sad one too!

oh goodness - what a sad story :( You have remembered Lucy in a beautiful and touching way Sandra. Lovely shabby / vintage touches.

We are so lucky to be living in a time when infections and diseases are so easily treated and require a quick trip to the Dr and a script for antibiotics. (usually). I am sure these people would have given anything to have immunizations and good medical knowledge and equipment back then....
