Kraft + May Inspo Challenge

Why hello there!
Finally thought I would pop back here and share with you my layout for the
May Challenge over at Kraft Plus Challenges.

Here is the Challenge
Okay.. I know I came up with the challenge.. but I found this bloody hard!
I couldn't get my head around it.
I had ideas coming into my head from all directions and my brain was as chaotic as the image.
Then I found these Imaginarium chipboard pieces floating around in my stash, and a lightbulb went off.
I was inspired by the circle and rainbow elements and "fun" feel of the layout and
this is what finally came to be..

Make sure you check out what the other girls have created over on the Kraft Plus blog, because, in all seriousness, they created some seriously amazing work.

Hope YOU play along as well

Until next time
(whenever THAT may be)
Take care of you xx

Kraft Plus November Challenge Inspired by P!nk!

This month KraftPlus Challenges  have mixed it up yet again with another different challenge to get you to put your thinking cap on. ;-)

This month the challenge is to be inspired by P!nk .. the artist.
I am REALLY looking forward to seeing all of the different interpretations for this one.
I am thinking.. attitude, fun, and even some poignant layouts.

and here is what I created.
A layout of my parents in law.
It was inspired by the song.. True Love and the roses from the album cover.. I'm Not Dead Yet.

I will be doing some private journalling on the back of the layout for my kids to read
later on :-)

Loved those WOW leaves and heart which I painted gold and tucked into the clusters.
And still LOVING the wallpaper samples from my sister and her husband, Jo and Paul.
I found a HUGE book full of roses.. how lucky am I??

I am in the middle of doing a HUGE cleanout of my scraproom.
I am really trying hard to be ruthless.. I am a shocking hoarder!
My friends and I are going to have a  "Ditch your Stash" day where we all clean out our stash... meet somewhere for a coffee (or cider) and then go through each others unwanted stash.
Whatever doesn't get taken goes into a box and taken to the kindy, church or nursing home which have craft activities.

Can't wait to get it finished!!
I can't even get to my desk.. let alone see the top of it!

Hopefully, once finished, I shall be soooo organised that layout after layout will be pumping out of that room!
(well, that's the plan ;-) )

WOW First Challenge.

Hello :-)
Words or Whatever (WOW)  have their first of many challenges up and running... and here is their challenge for November.

and here is what I created for it.
Using WOW products

Charms Creations October Challenge

I played along with the Charm's Creation's challenge  again this month.
Such a gorgeous mood board and palette.

LOVE this photo of my daughter taken by her friend.
I was inspired by the colours, the wood panelling,  the heart and long stemmed flowers
I used the a Charms Creation DIY heart and simply stamped it with a grid stamp to create a bit of interest.

Thanks for stopping by.

Scrap The Boys October Challenge

It has been a while since I have played along with a Scrap The Boys challenge.
I loved this challenge and I printed it off and tackled it at the recent Escape2Create "Mini" Retreat (where I actually finished FOUR and a 3/4  layouts.. a record I think! )

Here is the STB challenge (cool huh?)

And here is what I created.
I took inspiration from the gorgeous  colours, the arrow and the STB logo down the bottom right on the kraft :-)
Love the WOW chicken wire and tribal arrow.. perfect for boys pages :-)

Thanks for stopping by.
I have a few more layouts to share soon :-)

Kraft Plus "Inspired by Nature" October Challenge.

Just sneaking in to share my layout for this month's
K+ October Challenge.
Here is the challenge

So this month we are getting back to NATURE
The challenge is to use feathers (they do not have to be real)
and something that nature has provided (these DO have to be real. Think shells, sticks, pebbles, leaves etc etc )

Kraft + Feathers+ Items supplied by Mother Nature herself

I took the photo of the toadstool with my old phone.. and just love it.

I used a real feather in my cluster and added some pussy tails (not sure if that is what they are called and some gum nuts from the garden and some laminated leaves that I have been saving.

Chipboard from Words or Whatever - WOW. perfect.
So how about it?
Why not take a walk in your garden, or the park, or the beach and find some
unique embellishments provided by Mother Nature herself?
You may just be inspired to create something amazing :)

thanks for stopping by.
I will have some more layouts to share soon.. using some more WOW chippy ;-)

take care of you

Kraft Plus Tri-Hard Challenge

I was so excited when Em Stafrace from THE NIFTY PIXEL
said yes to designing a sketch specifically for Kraft Plus Challenges.
All I mentioned that the criteria would be to add triangles to your layout and she came up with this AMAZING sketch.
The girls on the K+ DT had a ball with the sketch and created some awe inspiring layouts.
and there are so many amazing entries already.!
Here is the link to the K+ blog for all the details.

and here is the sketch

and here is what I created

It is one of my favourite photos from the Escape2Create retreat earlier on this year.. and I am not 100% happy with the way I have scrapped it... so expect to see this photo again in the future ;-)

Why not pop over

Australian Scrapbooking Ideas .... Crafting with Kraft

I was lucky enough to be asked to write an article on some different ways to use...KRAFT! ;-)
It is in the current (and unfortunately last) issue of
Australian Scrapbooking Ideas Issue 32
Here are the layouts I created.

The background has a bit of story.. I help Kim create her wedding invitations and I used the kraft strips that were leftover, using them to weave a background. I think I may have to use this technique again :-)
Kraft .. perfect for grungy boy layouts.
and perfect for brights too.. (and making bows)

Loved working with Sue from ASI.. and will miss the magazine too, especially the little step by steps.

Kraft Plus Zentangle Challenge

Hi Everyone!
Sharing with you my layout for this months KraftPlus ZENTANGLE challenge.
This challenge really had some of the DT  thinking!
But they have really shown what an amazingly talented group of ladies they are by creating some truly awesome creations!
You can check out what they have created and also what the Guest Designers (so very clever as well! ) have created
Here is the K+ Zentangle challenge
and here is what I created for the challenge.
I found some copyright free printable butterflies and zentangled in the gaps. And I also did a bit of doodling  for  the border.
It was really quite relaxing and fun!

Would love for YOU to find your inner ZEN and join us this month.
Thanks for stopping by

A Moment Captured : Sassy Scrapper Challenge

Its been a long time in coming but I have finally created another layout for the Sassy Scrapper moodboard challenge!
I loved this moodboard created by Anita Bownds.
My eyes were drawn to all of those beautiful roses and the touches of gold.

The details behind the beautiful photo are unknown as, unfortunately, my Mother in Law (the beautiful woman in the photo) cannot remember when or where it was taken... hence the "memory forgotten" part of the journalling.
Making more of an effort from now on to ask her more questions before she forgets more details as she gets older.

Mustard Explosion... and whoops.. In the Jungle!

 Hello again!
Just sharing with you my layout for this month's Kraft Plus ChallengeMustard Explosion!

I played a bit with the background.
I dipped some twine in some yellow paint and lay it on the kraft, and then pressed a piece of cardstock on the top and pressed gently.. then lifted the cardstock off, and the twine.
And now I have TWO backgrounds and some super cool yellow twine to play with.

The criteria for this month's challenge is
Kraft background,
use the photo below as inspiration
and use yellow paint on your layout.

I hope you play along!
this is the challenge photo

and whoops! I forgot to share with you my layout for LAST months In the Jungle challenge!

Last month we had to use
animal print
There were so many wonderful entries!

I created a layout with some photos of one of my favourite scrapping friends, Fiona Paltridge, who I was so excited to meet at the recent Escape2Create retreat

Back soon with another share!

Bloody Globe! May Kraftboard Challenge.

I bought this globe at my local op shop back in November 2013 for $5 and had so many ideas running through my head on what to do with it!
Too many ideas.
Way too many tabs open :/
so I put it onto the shelf where it stayed for a while.

The first thing I did was to get rid of the electronic bits and pieces (it was a light).
Then I spray painted it black.
I had an idea of covering the whole thing with photos... like this...

sorry.. I saved this photo so long ago that I can't remember where I actually saved it from to give a photo credit :(
So I printed off a heap of my favourite photos and off I went to the Escape to Create retreat in 2014, with the globe under my arm.
I was sooo very excited to getting started.

So I started.... and the photos were creasing, (even though I printed them on thin adhesive paper) there were gaps, and it was so very frustrating!
So I put it aside and when I came home I put it back on the shelf :(
Where it stayed until the 2015 Escape 2 Create Retreat.
While we were setting up we had a shower of rain out of nowhere and because I had my scrapping gear outside out of the way during setup, the globe got wet.
WHICH WAS COOL! Because I wanted to peel off those photos I stuck on last year and it was so much easier with the paper being wet.
So I sat there and peeled off some of the photos.. but .. meh... that was boring.
I had scrapping to do and socialising to do!
So I took it home.... and put it on the shelf..again.
Where it sat until a few weeks ago.

The May Kraftboard Challenge  for Kraft Plus Challenges inspired me to take the "Bloody Globe" as it was now being called, off the shelf.
I love the colours and natural elements in this Kraftboard.
So I got rid of those black and white photos once and for all and then set about papier-macheing the globe with Kraft wrapping paper.
Then, using the twine wrapped around the bottle as inspiration I wrapped twine around the bottom of the globe, and tied a bow with it, like in the book photo.
I stamped some book print onto the kraft section, inspired by the books again.
I LOVED those beads in the Kraftboard.
I threaded some beads onto some thread and painstakingly stuck it around the globe.
(argh! If only I knew the magic of glue guns BEFORE I used glue and waited and waited.. and WAITED for it try and the beads to take hold
Then it was a matter of embellishing which was fun.. once I got my head around working on a round surface.
and the finished globe... at last it is finished!
Sitting on a different shelf :-)
and yes, I still call it the Bloody Globe... although with a bit more affection now

Thanks for dropping by.
I do hope you pop over and check out what the other DT girls and GDT girls have created with the mood board.. SO VERY INSPIRING.. and maybe have a go at it yourself :-)
Until next time
Take care of you
